Who wouldn't want to visit Yuma, Arizona in July?

It's true that some people may have doubted my sanity in packing up the kids and taking them to Yuma, Arizona in the middle of July.  It'a also true that it was 115 degrees while we were there.  But we had a blast with my cousin's family!

 We painted ceramic animals.

 Here's Erin with her cat.

 Dallin with his...animal.

 Gabe with his turtle (Shielda).

And we swam and swam and swam and swam some more in their sparkling pool.

Gabe's swimming improved by leaps and bounds while we were there.

Betsy made a new best friend and has been begging for a cat - and a house with a bathroom where the toilet and sink are in the same room - ever since.

Not pictured: a night-time trip to the desert to hunt for scorpions, a trip to the movie theater, and lots of time hanging out and enjoying the cousins and their air conditioning.

Hope we can visit again!!

  1. Thanks so much for coming to relieve the summer boredom. It was great fun to have you visit. The night you left, Erin was in tears at bedtime saying, "I miss everyone!" Sorry about the lack of desert critters--after our rainstorm the following week, we went out and found sidewinders, shovel-nosed snakes, horned lizards, lots of scorpions, and more. You just need to come back now!
